Description
The nankeen kestrel is the smallest Australian raptor, found throughout the country in lightly wooded and open areas like beaches. Their diet consists of arthropods, such as insects, centipedes and spiders, small mammals, reptiles and birds. They breed in August to December, laying 3-5 eggs which are incubated by the females.
