Description
Two types of bones make up the skeleton:
- Pneumatic – these bones are hollow and connected to the respiratory system via sacs (skull, collar bones, pelvis and lower back)
- Medullary – these bones are a supply of the calcium needed to make strong egg shells (legs, ribs and shoulder bones)
